Developer • Dragon • Structure nerd • Minecraft infrastructure architect
Hi! I'm Julian — a developer, infrastructure geek, and dragon from Germany. I love combining logic, creativity and structure to build digital systems that feel useful, polished and alive. Whether it's a transit network in Minecraft, a web interface, an automation script or a fictional world with way too much infrastructure lore, I enjoy turning chaotic ideas into systems that make sense.
I’m a trained IT specialist for application development and work with technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. I care about clean structure, maintainability, accessibility and interfaces that are actually understandable for humans — not just technically functional.
I’ve always been the kind of person who builds things to understand them. Whether it’s automating processes, designing data workflows, tinkering with microcontrollers, or dissecting why a specific UI just “feels right”, I constantly try to connect the practical with the intuitive.
I like building small and medium-sized projects that solve real problems, explore weird ideas or simply make everyday life a little easier. That can be a local tool, a website, a routing system, a data workflow, a Minecraft datapack, or a random prototype that started as a joke and somehow became useful.
For me, projects are not just about writing code. They are a way to understand systems, test ideas, create structure and turn abstract thoughts into something I can actually use, improve and share.
My main creative outlet is Minecraft — but not in the usual way. I’m one of the core contributors to Redstone & Rails, a large collaborative Minecraft project focused on technical realism, infrastructure, public transport and world simulation. I plan subway and railway networks, define accessibility standards, design fictional transport companies, create operating concepts and build JSON-based routing logic.
It’s not just blocks — it’s systems thinking, storytelling, urban planning and engineering wrapped into one interactive space. And yes: we have our own fake public transport website, operating concepts, companies and way too much lore for a Minecraft world.
Dragons have been with me for as long as I can remember — not just as fantasy creatures, but as something I deeply connect to. Especially SeaWings. There’s something about their calm, oceanic strength and silent intelligence that speaks to who I am.
I express this side of me through dreams, guided meditations, art, community and quiet moments of introspection. It’s not always easy to put into words, but it feels authentic. It’s a lens through which I understand myself and my inner world more clearly.
Outside of development, I’m passionate about public transportation, urban design, amusement parks and roller coasters. I also enjoy audiobooks, fictional worlds and stories that explore identity, society, technology or personal growth. Some of my favourite worlds include Harry Potter, Wings of Fire and good sci-fi with thoughtful ideas behind it.
I’m also a fan of very specific memes, British humour, flat jokes, random Wikipedia deep-dives and late-night Discord discussions that somehow start with public transport and end in philosophy.
One of my creative passions is making electronic music. I produce a style that blends retro-inspired 80s synth vibes with modern ambient and game-like textures — people often tell me it sounds like the soundtrack to a sci-fi adventure or a pixel-art dream world.
Music gives me a way to express moods and ideas that go beyond words — from the calm of deep oceans to the rush of a roller coaster. I compose tracks in my free time and use them for personal projects, videos or just as sonic self-expression.
I like structure. Known places give me calm, and I thrive when I can plan ahead. At the same time, I can completely lose myself in details: tweaking a CSS file for hours, improving a data model, optimizing a Redstone circuit or polishing a small UI interaction until it finally feels right.
Too much at once can be overwhelming, but I’ve learned what helps me stay grounded: routines, music, long showers, quiet moments, Minecraft’s soothing rhythm and building things that make the world feel a bit more understandable.
If anything here resonates with you — whether it’s development, Redstone, dragons, public transport, tech, music or just nerdy brain vibes — feel free to reach out. I’m active on Twitter, YouTube and Discord. You’ll find all the links on my social media page.
